Relaying errors in UI Design and its effect on User Experience

Successful UI Design will feel intuitive and natural to the user. When errors occur, however, it becomes important to make sure the user does not feel at fault or blamed. Error messages, when used, should be instructive and not just informative. Easy and obvious ways to return to a base screen when users feel lost or confused can dramatically reduce the stresses that lead to negative user experiences. And errors should be conveyed in a manner that is easily and instantly noticeable.
