User Interface design mistakes you don’t want to make

As UI designers, it’s important to know how the eye processes colors, shapes and patterns to create UI solutions that result in a user-friendly experience. While there are many facets to creating a positive user experience, three mistakes that you want to avoid are:

– Using fonts that are too decorative, or too small and compromising readability

– Using red text on blue backgrounds, or blue text on red backgrounds, as these are two of the hardest colors to look at; and

– Placing unrelated objects in close promiximity. Objects that are close together are automatically processed as related.
